Dear friends and family, I wish you guys could be here with me witnessing this beautiful country of Italy. I went to the beach today. The waves were crashing on the rocks, annoying seagulls were soaring through the sky, the sand was warming and massaging my feet as I walked, and people were relaxing as the warmth of the sun's rays warmed them as they lay below it. There was also a wonderful, cooling breeze constantly blowing from the water, making you taste the salty water on your lips. After the beach we went to eat lunch. We went to a pizza restaurant that made a delicious pizza. As soon as you walked in, the scent of garlic and wonderful seasonings overwhelmed you. The pizza was so good that the cheese was practically melting off. Well it has been a long day and another long one tomorrow. I'll be seeing you in a few days. Love Ashley
Dear Mom, Hey there! it is just absolutly fantastic here in Mexico. Right now I am sitting on the most beautiful beach hearing all the seagulls gawking and having the aroma of fresh clean air. The warm bright sand and the glistening blue water is so clear you can always see the bottom. It is so relaxing and warm in the sun sipping on the delicious frutiy pina colada which feels so frosty and cold. You need to be here. Tomorrow we are even going to go into the humongous mountains on a mule! Well we will be back in a week so I promise to bring you back something.
Dear Grandma, Italy is one of the prettiest places in the world. The food is mouthwatering and delicious. The steamy hot spaghetti, the ooey gooey cheese melting off the pizza, and the warm soft breadsticks all please my tastebuds. The city of Rome is absolutely beautiful, too! All of the glorious statues and towering buildings fill the gorgeous city. The detailed structures are a major part of Rome. They tower over the outgoing people. As I walk through this city, I can hear the coins slapping the fountain water as people throw them in. I'm constantly smiling here. I went to a beautiful building today where the stone walls were smooth and cold. Everyday I'm here is another day I couldn't imagine leaving. When I leave here though, I'm still going to have the smell of pizza sauce and warm breadsticks gracing my nostrils. I love Italy! Always, Megan
Im finally here. Everything is great and the beach is beautiful. The sand feels hot on my toes day and night. It's like it has it's own essence that retains the heat to keep it warm during the cold nights when the wind blows in from the east. The sight of the waves breaking on the beach, and the mist they give off is completely mistical. First thing in the morning i drink a cup of piping hot coffee and watch the fireball sun rise in the east. I could stand on the beach, day dreaming that i never had to leave, forever. The food here is great. I went to a pizza place today that had the best cheesy stuffed crust ever. The smell of it was just out of this world. Waking up to the sound of the birds flying around, like the world is their playground, sure beats waking up to that small annoying black alarm clock back home.
I'm here in Colorado with the glistening snow, and the loud crash of the skiers falling from their decent down the mountain. It is very clear that most of the people in Colorado have no idea how to ski or snowboard. The feeling of the snow sliding down their face after they fall down cant feel good. You can taste the bitterness of the cold on your tongue. Well, cant wait til you visit, BAIII!!
Dear Mom and Dad, I am having a great time in Egypt. The history of the pyramids is marvelous, I wish you could see it too. I visited the largest pyramid in the country today and I have never seen anything like it. The treasures gleamed in the light and illuminated the whole room. As I walked through the tunnels I ran my fingers over the hyroglifics on the cold, smooth wall. I then took a ride on a camel to a restraunt in the desert. As I rode the camel I could hear the rush of the sand whipping all around me. I knew I was close to the restraunt before I even saw it. The aroma hit me like a truck, I had never smelled anything that made my mouth water so much. The food tasted more amazing than it smelled. The vegetables were bright and radiated the strong scent. I wish you were here. Love, Kaitlyn
Dear Mom, Right as I'm leaving the awfully crowded airport I'm going down this gorgeous white capped mountain and all you see is the gigantic city with two bright stadiums. This is the hilliest city in the U.S., it's like being on a rollercoaster weaving in and out of this amazing city. There is this fish smell that lingeres on everyone, everywhere because here in Seattle they have the worlds largest outdoor flea market. The people of this city are the colorfullest of people in the Capital Hill area. The famous show Worlds Deadliest Catch came frome the dark, deep, white cap Pacific of this city. You never hear rumble, bang, or boom during a storm all you hear is drop, drop, drop all day long in these brisk temperatures. Here you'll witness the high class cars with expensive brands on every person, it's like you can feel the crispiness of the dollar everywhere you go. The shopping here is wonderful with all the malls and amazing shops. We rode on the tallest sight seeing scrapper to see al of what this beautiful city has to offer. Oh, and you can't forget about all the mouth watering coffee Seattle has to offer.
I know it seems like I just left, but I've already arrived in Egypt. The weather is wonderful; it's warm year around. The sand is wonderful; it's like warm water flowing between your toes as you walk. The breathtaking oasis is thriving with green vegitation and other wildlife. The pyramids are standing over the sandy landscape showing complete dominance. You can hear the sandy wubd whistling through the dunes. The grilled camel has a spice that gives your tongue a slight sting. The live camels give off a putrid odor that cannot be put into words. Overall, this place is great. I'll be sure to bring you home a nice souvenir. I wish you were here.
Russia is one of the most glorious place, filled with fun and exictement and shivering snow so when you see it your teeth chatter out of your mouth. Russia is one of the places to go if you want to see anything that would remind you of beautiful mountains and full of wildlife, and a sight you can look as far as the eyey can see. Food is marvalous it feels like your taste buds are going to explode so if you want the choice to travel somewhere beautiful Russia is the place to go.
Dear Mom, Amagine a place where everybody is close together like a family at a thanksgiving feast. You can hear the cars constanly moving through the streets just as if you were in New York City. I see men in bright red uniforms standing still as if they're statues. They never move unless instructed to by their superiors. I can smell all the foods being cooked in restaurants when i walk around the city. I taste the fresh slat air in my mouth and the best part is that it don't cost a dime. Just laying in the sand is like laying on a warm blanket out in the summer sun. The place is like walking through a dream world, where no one can bother you and no one can tell you what you can and can't do. There is so many things you can do here it's like you can not get bored. I wish i never could leave this place. Wish you could be here. Sincerly, Quentin
Dear mom. Today I ran across the steaming sand leaving a trail of foot prints all the way to the crystal clear ocean, as I stood there gazing out across what seemed like never ending clear blue sky, I saw a group of tiny multi colored fish swinmming as fast as their fins would let them against the crashing of the salt filled waves. I put my feet in the water it was as warm as a bath. I could feel the shells sharp courners under my feet. The waves hit my legs cooling them off instantly. Its truely wounderful here, wish you could be here.
Dear Mom, It is amazing here. It's nice to lay out on the soft sand and listen to the blue, clear waves crash on the beautiful sandy shore. It's interesting to watch the fluffy white seagulls fly over my head and listen to them sqwuak at each other. The food here is amazing. The taco's have a smooth texture and smell so good. Their slasa is better than any i've had before. It's fire red and tastes delicious on chips. I've seen a couple people walk around the streets in a sombraro of many different styles and colors. They vary from rainbow patterns and designs of stripes that are horizontal and vertical. I bought a red sombraro with blue ribbon wrapped around it and tied with a bow. I love it here, it's paradise. See you in a few days. Love, Jade
Italy is the most romantic, mezmorizing place on earth. As i wake up in the morning the great big fiery ball rose and brightend my room so much that it hurts to open my eyes. Everyday as i get out of bed the aroma of pasta and tomato sauce fills my nose. I visited the beach the baby blue sky filled with fluffy white clouds mezmorized me. For dinner i visited the old Italian resturaunt across from my hotel. I ordered chicken parmasian. The crispy breaded chicken on top of the delisous buttery noodles with melting drpping cheese on top satisfied my taste buds to the fullest. After dinner i went on a gaundula ride and the waves gently rocked my boat back and fourth as i felt myself moving with it. I fall asleep to all of the sounds of the big city every night. Hope all is well at home. Lindsey
Dear Grandmas, Today I went for a walk, or a walkabout as the natives here say, and I saw many very interesting things. It was a very beautiful day out, there was a breeze that carried the fragrance of all the flowers and it smelled like spring. All the animals were scurrying and playing and it was like the land was alive. I heard all the native birds beautiful songs all at once and it was almost like a loud crowd of people, there was also the most beautiful colors, the sky was robin egg blue, the ocean was like a clear turquoise bead, and the ground is the color of leather. It was very relaxing and it helped clear my head. Then on my way back home there was a family of kangaroos that were under some sparce looking trees and were nibbling on some freshly green luscious juicy blades of grass. I sat there watching for sometime, then as I got up to leave the daddy kangaroo noticed me and he allerted his family with a low raspy noise in his throat. The baby kangaroo who was like a small dog crawled clumbsley back into his mommy's pouch and they left a trail of grainy dust as they hopped away. I am really enjoying myself. -Alana
